Budapest Jewish Heritage Extended Tour

This program is recommended for visitors who wish to understand the Neologue, Status Quo and Orthodox Hungarian Jewish movements and see their main synagogues in order to have an insight into the Hungarian Jewry's past and present. Learning about the Hungarian Jewish history is a wonderful travel back in time during which the whole, one thousand year - old European history of Hungary also unfolds for the visitor.

After visiting the Dohany Synagogue's complex the tour continues with the walk in the Jewish district, the visit of the Kazinczy Synagogue and the orthodox neighborhood. At the Pest Jewish History Collection, we take visitors into the homes of Jewish families from different social backgrounds and show them Jewish households from the end of the 19th and the beginning of the 20th century that help the learned history come alive.
